Death of girl, 13, was as a result of ecstasy

A school girl who died suddenly after falling ill at her Merseyside home died as a result of ecstasy - a post mortem examination has confirmed.

Eboney Cheshire, 13, died at her home, on Sandon Close, Rainhill late on Sunday, December 2.

The popular teenager was rushed to hospital at 11.40pm, after police and paramedics were called to her Rainhill home, but sadly she died a short time later, at 1.20am.

Merseyside Police had previously said her cause of death was "unexplained".

But today police confirmed a Home Office post mortem examination has been carried out and her death was as a result of MDMA iin her system - MDMA is commonly known as ectsasy.

"We can confirm a Home Office post mortem has confirmed the cause of death of Eboney Cheshire, 13, from Rainhill, who died on 3 December.

"The Post Mortem determined the cause of death was Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) Toxicity."

Police said their investigation into her death was ongoing.
