For many children across the North West, the Easter holidays is not just a break from school, but a break from free school meals.

Nearly a third of the region's children live in poverty and one teenager from Darwen has decided to take a stand against holiday hunger.

15 year old Corey McPartland started the campaign "Darwen Gets Hangry" to share how it feels to be so hungry that your concentration and temper is affected.

Mr. Berry's office said they were in contact with the campaign and had agreed to meet them.

The Department of Work and pensions said they didn't want to comment specifically on the issues raised in that report, but they did point out that free school meals were provided for all children that need them.
