Passenger jailed for 'terrorising' cabin crew and holiday goers

A 35-year-old man has been jailed for attempting to open a plane door while it was in flight.

Lynton Bryan, from Oldham, pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment after a flight last June.

During the four hour flight to Turkey, Bryan became aggressive towards cabin crew staff and passengers.

He then began to bang on the flight deck door, just before trying to pull the assistance handle on the emergency exit doors.

He said to crew members:

"I'm a bad boy from Manchester. I will hunt you down and when I do, I will hurt you."

Today he given a 22 month prison sentence after a hearing at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

Brad Howarth of GMP’s Manchester Airport Team described Mr Bryan's actions as 'vicious and repulsive' and said he had:

"frightened not only the cabin crew but frightened the holiday goers who should have been excited at the start of their trip."
