Lee Atkins: man charged with murder over crossbow death in Bootle

Lee Atkins died in hospital after being wounded in the stomach. He was 38.

A man has been charged with murder after another man was shot dead with a crossbow.

Police had been called to Monfa Road in Bootle on Bank Holiday Monday where they found Lee Atkins with a life-threatening wound to the stomach.

He died in hospital.

David Ball, 49, of Brookhill Close, Bootle, is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday charged with murder.

A 41-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
