Manx man named as one of four dead in Dubai plane crash

A man from Douglas in the Isle of Man has been named as one of four people who died in a light aircraft crash near Dubai International Airport last Thursday.

26-year-old, William Blackburn, was on board the plane as it fell from the sky three miles south of the airport.

Two other British people and a South African were also on board during the crash, according to the United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

The incident happened during the evening of 16th May at approximately 7:30pm local time.

The General Civil Aviation Authority have said an investigation is under way.
