A man has been charged after an elderly lady had her handbag stolen twice from exactly the same spot in Stockport.
Police say she was walking along Bramhall Moor Lane in Hazel Grove on 10 June when a man approached her and threatened to stab her if she didn’t hand over her handbag.
Two weeks later, on Sunday 23 June, the woman fell victim to another robbery in exactly the same location - she was pulled to the ground as her bag was snatched from her shoulder. The woman's shoulder was fractured in this incident.
Lee Davenport of Mount Pleasant, Hazel Grove, has been charged with two counts of robbery.
He is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 26 June 2019.
