A man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Southport on Saturday 13 July.
Police were called to the town's Southport Promenade to reports that a man had been found injured at a shelter opposite the Royal Clifton Hotel.
The victim, who is in his 40s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
43-year-old Colin Howard from Royal Terrace in Southport has now been charged with attempted murder and possession of a sharply pointed article in a public place.
Howard will appear at South Sefton Magistrates Court.
