Passenger on Greater Manchester's trams can use contactless technology to pay for their journeys, from today, without needing a paper ticket.

The system will automatically calculate someone's fare, as long as they touch a station's contactless reader with a card or device at the start and end of each journey. There will be a daily cap on the fares which can be charged.

Transport bosses say it is part of a plan for a more modern and integrated transport system.
