Police and probation 'failed to stop convicted murderer from killing woman'

Photo:

A jury has found that agencies including the police and probation service failed to stop a convicted murderer from killing a young mother.

Cherylee Shennan was stabbed repeatedly by her partner Paul O'Hara at her home in Lancashire five years ago even though police officers were there at the time.

O'Hara had already been jailed for life in 1998 for killing a previous girlfriend but had been released from prison on license.

Her sister spoke to us earlier about the findings.
