Weather conditions favourable for viewing tonight's partial lunar eclipse

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11 and the mission to the moon. This evening there will be a partial lunar eclipse of the full moon.

Traditionally this lunar cycle and its full moon is referred to by a number of monikers. Buck moon, Thunder moon, Hay moon or Wort moon.

If you're watching the skies tonight you may be lucky enough to catch the partial lunar eclipse at its peak around 10.30 pm as skies clear across the country
