Merseyside Police have issued a public safety message ahead a number of festivals and events happening in and around the city this weekend.

  • The Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF), will be hosted at Sefton Park between Saturday 20 – Sunday 21 July.
  • The Vitality Netball World Cup 2019 is also taking place and finishes on 21 July at the ACC Liverpool Arena and the M&S Bank Arena.
  • Tranmere Rovers also play Stoke City at Prenton Park on Saturday, 20 June.

Other events planned in Merseyside this weekend include:

Cream Classical in Sefton Park, Haydock Race Course, Shirley Park, St Helens, and the Walton Festival, Walton Hall Avenue.

Superintendent Mark Morgan said:

We have a really busy weekend ahead and we want to make sure everyone enjoys themselves but also that they stay safe.

Plan ahead for road closures, arrange designated pick-up/meeting points and finally, should you feel concerned for your own or someone else’s safety, find an officer or event steward who will be able to help. But, most importantly, enjoy the music, the atmosphere and have a good time.
