Three more arrested following murder of James Halewood from Kirkby

Police have confirmed three further arrests have been made in relation to the murder of 21-year-old James Halewood.

Officers were called to Broad Lane, Kirkby on July 7 at around 12.50pm to reports a man had been stabbed.

James was later taken to hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

A Home Office post mortem confirmed the cause of death was a single stab wound.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said:

We have arrested one man and two women in relation to the murder of 21 year old James Halewood on 7 July.

Officers have today (12th August) undertaken a warrant at an address in the Kirkby area where a 19 year old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and two women, aged 29 and 19 were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They have all been taken to custody to be questioned.
