Pedestrian killed in road collision in Stockport

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in Stockport.

A silver Mercedes ML was travelling along Churchgate at about 7.50pm on Friday 16th August when it turned left into Silk Close and collided with a pedestrian.

Emergency services attended the scene but the man, who is believed to be in his 40s, was later pronounced dead in hospital.

His family has been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, and anyone who saw the man just before the incident, to come forward.

He is described as white, around 6ft 2in, of stocky build and was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a dark coloured top.
