A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Handforth, near Wilmslow.
Police were called in the early hours of this morning after the report of a concern for the welfare of a 55-year-old woman.
The body of a woman was found inside a house on Meriton Road in Handforth.
Formal identification has yet to be completed. However, the body is believed to be the 55-year-old local woman.
Her family have been informed and are currently being supported by specialist officers.
Three men have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Two of the men – 43-year-olds and 51-year-olds from Wilmslow – were arrested on suspicion of murder.
The other man – a 57-year-old from Handforth – is being held on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All three men are currently in custody being questioned by officers.
