Police appeal to find man who punched female ticket guard at Manchester Piccadilly

Police have released CCTV footage after a female rail ticket guard was punched in an unprovoked attack at Manchester Piccadilly station.

The incident happened at 11am on Friday July 19 when the man is reported to have become agitated after being asked to show a ticket.

He is seen lifting a child over the barriers, in the process knocking her head, then turns to the staff member and punches her in the face.

The staff member suffered bruising and swelling and was signed off work for a period of time.

A BTP spokesperson said:

Anyone who recognises man in the footage is urged to contact police immediately.
