A man was taken to hospital following a violent bust-up involving up to 30 men outside a pub in Gorton.
Eye-witnesses reported seeing a man on the ground following an altercation close to the Waggon and Horses on Hyde Road on Saturday night.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene at around 10.40pm and closed Hyde Road as an investigation began.
One man was taken to hospital with a facial injury.
One resident described how the incident involved a group of up to 30 men who had been drinking inside the pub.
"I could see one man on the floor. He was conscious. He was able to get up and walk into the ambulance," they told the M.E.N.
The landlady of the pub declined to comment.
A statement from Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers were called to 'reports of a disturbance outside a pub on Hyde Road' shortly after 10.40pm on Saturday.
"Officers attended and a man was taken to hospital for treatment for a facial injury. Hyde Road was temporarily closed and enquiries are ongoing," added the statement.
