Around 50 firefighters are currently tackling a blaze close to Manchester City Centre.
Crews were called to a vehicle repair shop on Midland Street in the Ardwick area of the city at around 4.27am.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said the fire has been contained to the part of the building where it started and has been prevented from spreading to the rest of the vehicle repair shop.
A photo tweeted by the service captures the heat from the fire.
Midland Street is closed and commuters are being warned to plan ahead for their morning commute.
