Victory for Zack as government pledge cash for toilets

A young man from Accrington who campaigned for disabled changing facilities at service stations has won his fight.

Zack Kerr has cerebral palsy and struggled to find anywhere which offered privacy and dignity.

The government's announced new funding for Changing Places facilities, which offer more space and equipment than standard toilets.

In a modern country, everyone should be able to travel.

Despite improvements in some areas, we need our roadside services to be better for the quarter of a million people who cannot use standard accessible toilets.

Funding of around £750,000 will go to providing the new facilities at 22 motorway services and there are plans for further cash to build more on other routes.
