Stolen car ends up on garage roof after hitting parked cars in Wigan

A car that had been reported stolen has ended up on top of a garage roof after apparently crashing into a number of parked vehicles.

It happened shortly after 4am on Sunday morning on Bickershaw Lane, Wigan.

Police believe the blue Ford Fusion had initially collided with a number of vehicles parked along the road.

People in the area have reported that three cars have been completely written off.

Officers say the driver of the car fled the scene leaving the front seat passenger with life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to Salford Royal hospital but police have been unable to identify him.

The car had been reported stolen from an address in Leigh on Saturday.

Detectives say they are continuing to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the collision.

Road closures have been in place to help police with their investigation.
