North West Weather - Into Friday - Turning wet and windy!

Gusty winds into Friday. Heavy showers or longer spells of rain continuing into the weekend....

THURSDAY NIGHT:

Clear spells and heavy showers. These will intensify throughout the night and into the early hours. These showers will be accompanied by brisk westerly winds. Lows 9°C.

FRIDAY:

Remaining unsettled as heavy rain pushes in to all parts of the region during the morning. Torrential downpours likely, especially for western slopes of the Pennines, where 60-70mm could fall during the first half of the day.

Rain will begin to clear during the afternoon, bringing some sunny spells and the occasional blustery shower. Highs 15°C.

WEEKEND:

Saturday will be mostly dry and clear with perhaps a cloudier start and finish and a few scattered showers. Rain will move in overnight from the south, and intensify on Sunday morning, easing off into the afternoon.
