A massive North West fixture takes place in the Premier League this weekend with Manchester United hosting rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday (20th October) Liverpool are currently top of the table with 8 wins from 8. United meanwhile are down in 12th having won only twice in the league so far this season. And this is a clash that's always looked forward to by the fans.

Meanwhile Greater Manchester Police have issued a statement ahead of the big match.

Sunday afternoon will see Manchester United host Liverpool at Old Trafford stadium for what is expected to be a hugely competitive match with around 3000 away fans travelling to Manchester. In the build up to the game we have worked closely with both clubs and fans to ensure that everyone attending the game can do so safely On match days there are usually a lot of people using Manchester’s transport links, and areas around the ground – as well as parts of the city centre- will be busier than usual so we recommend that people plan their journeys accordingly.
