Two men have been shot at a house in Liverpool.

Police say four men, wearing dark clothes and with their faces covered, entered a house on Dane Street in Walton on Sunday evening and shot their two victims in the legs.

Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police patrols have been increased in the area.

Chief Inspector Peter Clark said they're keeping an open mind over this "shocking" incident, but believe it to be a targeted attack.

Dane Street is a residential area and an incident such as this is appalling and unacceptable. Gun crime will not be tolerated by Merseyside Police and I would urge the public to please come forward with any information they may have, no matter how small.
