YouTuber caught speeding at nearly 100mph after posting video to Facebook

A YouTuber who posted a video of himself driving at nearly 100mph on one of the UK's most dangerous road has been called "careless, reckless and selfish" by police.

Joe Achilles filmed this footage on a GoPro as he drove a sports car along the A57 Snake Pass in Derbyshire:

The video was spotted by officers from Derbyshire Police - who used technology to prove the speed the £100,000 super car was travelling at, calculating a series of average speeds between the landmarks.

A Derbyshire Police sergeant said speeding in that manner in a bid to get social media views was "quite frankly pathetic".

For a man who drives for a profession I am appalled that he seemingly has so little value for the lives of other road users. The roads of the UK are not race tracks and should not be used as such.

Sergeant Adam Shipley

Achilles has been given six points on his license and fined more than £600.
