Police officers in Merseyside are visiting schools to warn them about "stranger danger" after a number of suspicious incidents in Huyton.

On Monday it was reported that three men in a white van had stopped beside a 14 year old girl - she ran away as two of them approached her.

Although she was unharmed, Merseyside Police said they've received two other similar reports involving men in vans, which they are taking "extremely seriously".

No one has been physically harmed during these incidents - but officers said the nature of the men’s behaviour left the women they approached feeling apprehensive.

While the three incidents involve between two and three men in a white van acting suspiciously around females, we are at this stage keeping an open mind as to whether they are linked in any way.

In each case, the females ran away to safety and we would advise anyone faced with a similar situation to do exactly that.
