Conditions for the north west look a little more favourable now, bringing heavier and more persistent rain further south.
Most of any showers feeding in along the northwest wind will ease as winds ease through the night. Much of the region will see clear spells, allowing for a widespread frost to develop. As dawn approaches, a few showers may drift onto the coast. Lows down to -3°C. A few icy stretches and fog patches possible.
A few early and late showers but for most of the day a drier, brighter day. Staying chilly, highs to about 6°C, but feeling better with a lighter and milder airflow and more sunshine.
The next few days will be mostly dry and bright with a cold northeast airflow. Rain may creep in Thursday night and into Friday morning. If it does areas most at risk are Cheshire and Derbyshire.
