A 'world-famous' light spectacle will start in Liverpool tonight.

The Liverpool Light Spectacular will boast a 50-metre tunnel of light and musical displays on Church Alley in the City Centre.

The festive event will run from November 15 until January 5.

The spectacle will take place every hour from 4.30 to 7.30pm each evening, with visitors being promised a 10-minute show, with songs including 'All You Need is Love' and 'All I Want for Christmas is You'.

The project is being run by the Liverpool BID Company.

Bill Addy, chief executive of Liverpool BID Company said: "It is going to be an amazing new attraction in the city centre this Christmas, with music, lights and festive cheer - we can't wait for people to experience it.

The Light Spectacular has also taken place in Spain and Belgium.
