A woman who murdered her partner after stabbing him 30 times has been jailed for life.
Claire McMahon, 35, was found guilty of murdering John Robinson following a trial at Manchester Crown Court.
McMahon had previously admitted manslaughter but denied a charge of murder throughout a two-week trial.
But a jury took just two hours to unanimously find her guilty of murdering the 37-year-old and McMahon has now been jailed for life with a minimum term of 18 years before she can apply for parole.
The trial heard how McMahon called 999 and told the operator 'I've stabbed him, I need the police, I need everything, he's attacked me as well'.
McMahon used two knives to murder her partner, both of which broke in the frenzy.
She claimed that he had driven her to it, alleging he was violent and abusive.
Mr Robinson's family claimed that McMahon was aggressive towards him and that he had been 'petrified' of her.
