Police are appealing for information after gunfire was heard in Eccles last night.
Emergency services were called to Church Street at around 10pm last night to reports of a firearm discharge, police believe that a man wearing dark clothing was responsible.
The man is thought to have driven away in a grey people carrier, according to Greater Manchester Police.
No one was injured and no arrests have yet been made, but enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Joanne Kay, of the Salford district, said: "Fortunately no one was hurt in this instance; however, I would like to reassure the public that we are treating this crime very seriously and are doing all we can to find those responsible.
"I am particularly keen to speak to anyone that was on or around Church Street at the time of this incident and may have heard or seen anything unusual or suspicious."
