Klopp confident Liverpool can handle pressure to keep Champions League hopes on track

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is confident his players can handle their demanding fixture schedule without it affecting their standing in either the Premier League or Champions League.

Klopp's side, top of the table domestically, need a point against Red Bull Salzburg in Austria to progress to the knockout stages in Europe.

He has managed the pitch time of his players over the last week, resting the likes of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino for last Wednesday's Merseyside derby and Sadio Mane for the weekend win at Bournemouth.

Asked whether he expected fitness levels to drop due to the physical demands of playing a game every three days the Reds boss said: "No, I don't expect them to.

"If they happen I will prepare a solution then. We don't accept drops - not me, the boys as well.

"We are in the most intense period of our lives and that is what we will try to use and enjoy."
