The Church of England says a new 18 storey tower block in Liverpool could put the City's World Heritage Status under threat.
New plans for a hotel and hundreds of apartments, once sold to buyers as "New Chinatown," were controversially approved, earlier, even though the Council is still owed £1m for the site.
But it was "God" vs "The Developer" after an objection heard the tallest tower could block the view of the iconic Anglican Cathedral.
The Bishop of Warrington warned "once the skyline has gone, it cannot be recaptured."
