A teenager has denied the murder of Lindsay Birbeck.
The 47-year-old mother-of-two was found in Accrington Cemetery on August 24, 12 days after she was reported missing from her home in Huncoat.
A post-mortem examination revealed she had been strangled.
The 16-year-old defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared via video link at Preston Crown Court today where he pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
He was remanded in custody to appear for trial at Preston Crown Court on February 25.
The teenager spoke only to confirm his name, age, and nationality and to enter his plea.
The trial will be heard before Her Honour Mrs Justice Yip and is expected to last for two weeks.
Prosecutor Katherine Pierpoint appeared at court on behalf of the Crown and the defendant was represented by Peter Wright QC.
Ms Pierpoint told the hearing that a case opening would be prepared for the trial along with a timetable document and a jury bundle index.
