The new MPs that people in the North West are waking up to

The North West has 18 new MPs following yesterday's General Election.

There are 12 new Conservative MPs in the region after the party made gains throughout the region on their way to winning the election.

They are:

  • Simon Fell - Barrow & Furness
  • Scott Benton - Blackpool South
  • Antony Higginbottom - Burnley
  • Mark Logan - Bolton NE
  • Sara Britcliffe - Hyndburn
  • Christian Wakeford - Bury South
  • Chris Clarkson - Heywood & Middleton
  • James Grundy - Leigh
  • James Daly - Bury North
  • Andy Carter - Warrington South
  • Kieran Mullan - Crewe & Nantwich
  • Robert Largan - High Peak

There are several new Labour MPs in the region as well after several had quit the party before the election to stand as independents.

They are:

  • Charlotte Nichols - Warrington North
  • Nav Mishra - Stockport
  • Mick Whitley - Birkenhead
  • Paula Barker - Liverpool Wavertree
  • Kim Johnson - Liverpool Riverside
  • Ian Bryne - Liverpool West Derby
