Man shot twice in Christmas Eve attack in Liverpool

A man in Liverpool is currently in hospital after a shooting in West Derby last night.

The 22-year-old was shot in the leg and foot during an incident on Mab Lane at 5pm on Christmas Eve.

His condition is not thought to be serious.

Merseyside Police have said that they are investigating and are appealing for anyone with any information or dashcam footage to come forward.

Chief Inspector Derek Riley said: "The investigation is currently in its early stages and we are working to establish exactly what has happened here.

"I would appeal for anyone who was in the area around Mab Lane this evening who has seen anything to contact us a matter of urgency as they may have information which is vital to this investigation."
