A teenager is seriously injured in hospital after being shot in north Manchester last night [Jan 6].

The 18-year-old man was driven to North Manchester General Hospital in Crumpsall with a gunshot wound shortly before 9pm on Monday.

Medical staff alerted Greater Manchester Police that the teenager had been shot.

The victim was driven to hospital by men in a silver Toyota Yaris who left before officers arrived.

It is believed the man was shot on Spender Avenue, in Cheetham Hill.

No arrests have been made and police are continuing to investigate.

A black Range Rover with smashed windows can be seen within the cordon.

Shortly before 9pm on Monday 6 January 2020, police were called by medical staff at North Manchester General Hospital to reports that a man with a serious gunshot wound had been brought in for assistance.
