Wirral man runs a marathon in his back garden to raise money for the NHS

We're all making the most of our daily exercise outside, but one man from the Wirral has taken it to the extreme.

John Harris ran 1210 laps of his back garden - the same distance as a marathon - to raise money for his local NHS Trust and the charity CLIC Sargent.

The challenge took him 4 hours and 21 minutes. His wife Sophie, and the odd friend and family peering over the fence, cheered him on throughout and kept him motivated with music.

John was due to run the London Marathon later this month, but after it was postponed, decided to create his own course to continue raising money for his chosen charities.

You can donate to the Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust here and CLIC Sargent here.
