Four arrested on drug charges as part of operation targeting County Lines between Merseyside and Cumbria
Merseyside Police have arrested four people as part of a joint operation with Cumbria Police targeting Country Lines drug supply.
A man and a woman, both 26, were arrested in the Old Swan area of Liverpool on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
Meanwhile, in Barrow, two men, both aged 35, were arrested on the same charge.
Police have said that all four have been taken into custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Paul Parry said: "Today’s arrests follow an extensive investigation into the supply of drugs from Liverpool to Barrow using the County Lines method, and it pleasing to see four individuals now in custody.
"Those involved in County Lines drug supply bring misery to communities near and far with no regard for the lives they affect. Often, they also target and coerce young and vulnerable people into becoming involved in dealing for them."
Anyone with any information on drug supply or crime in their area is asked to contact Merseyside Police @MerPolCC or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
