Tributes have been paid to a teenage boy whose body was found in the River Irwell in Salford yesterday.

The 14-year-old, who has been named as Adam Kay, was last seen in the water near Clifton Country Park on Tuesday, June 2.

Adam was a pupil at Harper Green School in Bolton where he has been described as a “charismatic individual” who “always had a smile on his face”.

“Adam always had a smile on his face and his boundless energy was infectious. In school Adam was always laughing and joking with his friends and had time for everyone.
