People in the North West are being reminded not to drive into Wales as stricter lockdown rules still remain in place there.

A group of 19 Merseyside men were stopped and fined last weekend after they made the journey to hills near Newton for off road biking.

Five vehicles were stopped and the group given covid 19 fixed penalty notices.

In England travel restrictions have been relaxed, but the Welsh Government is still telling people to remain in their local area for exercise.

"Working together with partner agencies we turned around somewhere in the region of 1000 vehicles over that weekend and obviously encouraging, explaining and engaging with the individuals but also having to enforce on some occasions as well"
