Two men charged with murder after stabbing of Jordan Brophy in Halewood

Two men have been charged with murder after a man was killed in Halewood.

Emergency crews were called to an address on Beechwood Avenue, on Friday 30 October evening. Jordan Brophy was found with stab wounds. He later died in hospital.

Six people were arrested in connection with his death. Karl Townsend, 31, and 22-year-old Jamie Cunningham, both from Halewood, have been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.

They will appear in court on Tuesday 2 November. A 62-year-old man has been conditionally bailed. A 36-year-old man remains in custody. Another man, 26, has been released on bail pending further enquiries, and a 33-year-old man has been released with no further action taken.  Merseyside Police ask anyone with information to get in touch.
