Pendle MP speaks of area's pride in armed forces

Andrew Stephenson, MP for Pendle, has spoken of his constituency's pride in those who serve their country in the armed forces after the death of Lance Corporal Michael Foley in Afghanistan.

This is absolutely tragic news.

We've many very proud mothers and fathers round here who see their sons and daughters join the British armed forces and this is a reminder that some of them make the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

– Andrew Stephenson, MP for Pendle

Lance Corporal Foley 'always put his kids first'

Axel used to give me lifts home after exhausting PT sessions, and then he would make me climb all over his childrens' car seats, refusing to take them out in case he needed to take them anywhere. It was simple, his kids came first.

Axel, you will be sorely missed; our thoughts and prayers are with Sophie, Calum, Warren and Jake.

– Sergeant Richard Dawson-Jones, Information Hub Manager
