CCTV of stabbed student's final steps in hunt for killer
Detectives have released CCTV footage showing the movements of Kieran Crump Raiswell moments before he was attacked and killed.
The 18 year old was found with stab wounds on Wednesday afternoon on Upper Chorlton Road in Whalley. He was taken to hospital and sadly died from his injuries.
His attacker was seen at the junction of Stamford Road and Upper Chorlton Road, possibly hiding in some bushes. As Kieran crossed over Stamford Road he walked up behind him, stabbed him and ran off.
Kieran’s attacker is described as a light skinned male, slim build, between 5ft 1in and 5ft 4in tall, possibly aged 16 or 17. He has a short back and sides haircut and was wearing blue jeans and a black v neck jumper with the Versace sign printed on the front and back in red.
Detective Chief Inspector Peter Marsh said: "We have a dedicated team of detectives working to build up a picture of what happened, but at this stage in the investigation there appears to be no obvious motive for killing Kieran, who was simply walking along the street.
"I believe the answers to who did this will lie in the community. Someone will know who was responsible and I implore those people to be courageous and come forward.
“If it was your brother, son or friend who was killed in this way you would want justice for them."
A post mortem examination has concluded that Kieran died from a stab wound to the chest.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4711 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
