A suspected arson attack at a Manchester Mosque is now under investigation.

Fire crews were called out to the Nasfat Manchester Islamic Centre on Droylsden Road just before midnight.

The images captured by a witness show the flames engulfing the building and causing significant damage.

"This is absolutely terrible. This is heartbreaking for the community that we're trying to build here.

"I'm just in shock, absolutely in shock. I'm horrified, worried. There's all sort of thoughts going through my head because I've got two kids that use this mosque every single weekend.

"They are in school today. I don't know what to say to them."
