Police are appealing for information after a 43 year old man sadly died following a collision in Haslingden.

The incident happened at shortly after 8pm last night - Wednesday 3 February - when the man was walking along Manchester Road.

As he was outside the Jet Petrol Station, he was involved in a collision with a white Mercedes Sprinter van. The man was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where he sadly died.

Following CCTV enquiries, officers are keen to trace a man who was seen walking along the same route moments before the collision. They would also like to speak to a woman who was on the opposite side of the road, getting into her car on Hall Street as the collision occurred.

PS Claire Pearson from the Road Policing Unit said:

“This is a tragic incident where a man has sadly died and my thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

"An investigation is underway to establish exactly how this collision came to occur and we are keen to speak to any witnesses who may be able to assist with our enquiries.

"In particular, we would like to trace the man and woman who were seen on CCTV in the vicinity around the time of the collision and I would urge them to come forward and contact us.”
