The Barrow MP John Woodcock has told Granada Reports why he's taken the decision to quit the Labour Party.
In his only television interview since leaving the part, Mr Woodcock says he can no longer represent an area where thousands of jobs depend on building nuclear submarines while Labour is led by Jeremy Corbyn - who is a long-standing opponent of nuclear weapons.
Mr Woodcock is now standing as an independent. And he's calling for MPs of all sides to come together to form a new political party.
