Family pays tribute to murdered teen

The family of Kieran Crump Raiswell, 18, paid the following tribute to their eldest son and brother.

They said: "Kieran was our eldest son and a caring brother to his younger brother and sister.

"He was a loving grandson, nephew, cousin, friend and he was loved by all who knew him. He had his whole life ahead of him.

“Kieran was a quiet, easy-going boy who loved to be at home spending time with us.

"Kieran loved to watch Manchester City and he was a season ticket holder there.

"As well as watching football, Kieran played for FC Bluestar between the ages of 11-18 and he also played cricket for Sale Cricket club. Kieran also helped coach at his younger brother’s football club.”

Murdered teen was 'gentle and friendly' young man

The assistant principal of Loreto College has said staff and pupils are shocked after hearing of the murder of a former pupil.

Kieran Crump Raiswell, 18, was fatally stabbed while walking in Whalley Range yesterday.

"He was a most gentle and friendly young man, who was liked and admired by everyone who met him.

"He successfully completed his A-levels in Politics, History and Physical Education in summer 2012 and he was taking a gap year before going to Sheffield Hallam University to read History.

"He had recently returned from the USA where he had been coaching football for three months.

"In the preceding year he had visited the USA with the college’s History/Politics Department.

"His teachers and friends are devastated by this news and our deepest sympathy goes to his family and friends."

Police have said an 18-year-old gap year student who was stabbed in Manchester was a 'completely innocent' victim.

Kieran Crump Raiswell was attacked in Whalley Range yesterday afternoon and died later.

He had been a pupil at Loresto Sixth Form College and was on a gap year after completing his A-levels. He was due to start a degree course in Sheffield after the summer.

A teenager who was stabbed to death in a Greater Manchester street has been named locally as Kieran Crump Raiswell.

A murder investigation is under way after the 18-year-old was targeted by a lone knifeman.

The teenager, who was not known to police and is understood to have been a completely innocent victim, was walking in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, on Wednesday afternoon when he was attacked.

It is understood Kieran was a gap year student.
