Residents in Salford are celebrating after hearing an area of the city is being given a 650 million pound make-over.
Two years ago pictures from Pendleton were broadcast around the world as rioters and looters took to the streets.
Today the cranes and diggers moved in - and, we are being told, new homes, jobs and training opportunities are on the way.
The Council says they have learned from past mistakes as they build for the future.
