The father of PC Nicola Hughes who was shot whilst on duty told us he's overwhelmed at the support he's receiving for his North Pole marathon.
Bryn Hughes's daughter Nicola and PC Fiona Bone were shot dead by Dale Cregan when they were responding to a hoax burglary call. Bryn will brave temperatures as low as -37C when he attempts the challenge next April.
All the money raised will go to: the North West Police Benevolent Fund, and Care of Police Survivors, which look after current and retired officers and their families when they are in need, and Victim Support, which assists victims of crime.
Tonight an event to raise money for the marathon will be held in Saddleworth at the Swan pub in Dobcross. Stuart Littleford from the Saddleworth News has arranged a screening of 'Kes" and appearance from Billy Casper himself Dai Bradley.
