Man injured after shots fired in Liverpool

Merseyside Police is appealing for information after shots were fired in Bootle in the early hours of this morning. Patrols were called to Percy Street at about 1.30am to find damage to the door of a house consistent with a shotgun. Police believe it was a targeted attack.

A man who was in the house at the time received minor cuts. Detectives have cordoned off the area whilst forensic examinations are carried out and CCTV from the area is being checked to identify the individuals responsible.

"We take incidents of this nature very seriously and thankfully no one in the house was seriously injured."I would like to reassure the community that officers are working to identify those responsible for this wreckless act and searches of the area are being undertaken."I would appeal to anyone with information to contact police. We look into all information provided to us, no matter how small you might think it is, the information could be really useful for our enquiries."
