A 17-year-old boy has died when a car in which he was a passenger crashed on the Isle of Man.
Island police said the driver of the Renault Clio and two further passengers were also seriously injured and were taken to Nobles Hospital.
One of the injured remains in intensive care and the driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
The crash happened shortly before midnight last night on the A24 Foxdale Road, near to its junction with Archallagan Plantation.
The three-door door hatchbackwas travelling from the Eairy, towards The Braaid.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
“This was a challenging scene to deal with for all the emergency services, all who stepped up to the bar to professionally deal with the difficult issues confronting them.
"All the next of kin have been informed, and over the coming days we will be working to establish precisely what led to this tragic event.
"Although only one vehicle is believed to have been involved at this time, it is important we establish clearly that this was the case.
"If anyone was driving on that road around the time of the collision, I’d compel them to get in touch with us at headquarters and speak to the investigation team. We are particularly interested in the movements of the Clio, which was travelling from the Eairy end towards the Braaid.
