Vandals are being blamed for a tram derailment overnight in Chorlton.
Metrolink say points were damaged at St Werburghs Road station, but the tram was going at a 'walking pace' when it came off the tracks.
There are no reports of any injuries to passengers.
Services are currently suspended between East Didsbury and Deansgate Castlefield and Cornbrook and Manchester Airport.
Engineers were at the station at first light and are working to repair the tram and damaged points.
The line is suspended until further notice and there is no estimate yet when services will start again.
